My name is Doug Peterson and I am fundraising for the college education for my granddaughters, Grace and Anna Carr. Their parents, Paul and Kim Carr, were married in 2006, and had what I always called the perfect storybook life - two working parents with 2 beautiful children, a dog and a house with a mortgage. They would enjoy life and all of its blessings for the next 12-years. Then tragedy struck when Paul passed away in 2018, leaving my daughter Kim and the two girls to carry on without their husband and father. Then, only a year later, Kim was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. At first the prognosis was good - that being with chemotherapy, radiation and surgery, she had a chance at a full recovery. Sadly, it did not turn out that way. After several surgeries and all-too-many periods of pain and suffering, my beautiful Kimmy passed away on January 6, 2022. We are fortunate to have a great circle of family and friends for support during these tragic times, and also that Grace and Anna will have a home and family life together with Kim's sister Christy and her husband Chris. The outlook for covering the cost of their college education is of great importance to me and our entire family, so I am starting this fund-raising campaign to help support their future and their dreams. We are not necessarily setting a particular goal - anything at all would be appreciated.
