In early 2020 before COVID-19 was considered a pandemic, James made the bold decision to leave China to help me, my pregnant wife, and 3 year old in the US as I was struggling with mental health and responsibilities. Not only did he sacrifice his time to be with us in the US, he also has been separated from his fiancée, Grace in Beijing. After 10 months of being separated because of the pandemic, they decided that 2020 wasn't going to stop them from their destiny. They met in Istanbul, Turkey last night and got married today December 1st with ~80 people attending from all over the world via Zoom!
Neither of them are currently working and are also not able to go back to the US or China together so they are planning to "honeymoon" in Istanbul for 30 days until her visa runs out, then visit Ukraine, then back to Istanbul staying at AirBnB's and hotels with the money they've saved until the COVID lightens up and they can go back to the states or China. Prayers are asked for the couple as they have no connections in Turkey and any funds raised will be used for their lodging and travel until they can get back to China or the US.
Please join me in celebrating this blessed union and share with those that want to celebrate with them or shove it in COVID's face!
Congratulations James & Grace!
p.s. Please share with those that know the newlyweds!
p.p.s. They plan to have an actual reception once they can get back to China or the US once it's safe to which could be over a year from now.
