My name is Jennifer Novicki, and I am reaching out for support on behalf of my sister-in-law, Lori Hamilton.

Lori was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, a form of blood cancer, a year and a half ago. Despite undergoing the initial process, which included a stem cell transplant, the treatment was unsuccessful. As a result, Lori is now faced with the need for a second transplant.

The upcoming treatment involves high-dose chemotherapy followed by a second stem cell transplant. Given that the specialized procedure is not available in New Mexico, Lori will have to travel to Denver again for the life-saving intervention.

Although Lori's insurance may cover some co-payments, she will need to remain in Denver for another two months after her second transplant. The expected cost for her extended stay and care in Denver is around $14,000.
