Morgan's Mission Trip
Donation protected
Our oldest daughter, Morgan, feels led and is getting ready to go on an 11-day mission trip to Anchorage, Alaska, this summer to help minister to families in poverty. Her group will be joining up with Grace Works Alaska to help run a Bible School for neighborhood children during the days and provide meals for the children and their families some nights during the week they are there. This is such a great opportunity for Morgan to not only be able to provide a service to those in need, but for her to experience an amazing trip and spiritual experience in one of the most beautiful areas of the country. Andrew and I are supporting her as much as we can, but additional support is appreciated to help with the cost of the trip and expenses while she's there. A good portion of the travel cost is due in a few weeks, so we are trying to get the word out quickly.
Morgan is an amazing young lady who recognizes opportunities to serve and has a servant's heart. We are incredibly proud of her as she goes on this journey and look forward to how God will continue to work in her life in the future.
ABOUT THE MISSION TRIP - From Morgan
Students Missions in 2017
Dear Friends and Family,
I hope this letter finds you and your family doing well. I wanted to give you an update on what God is doing in my life. Currently, I am a senior at Lubbock-Cooper High School. Next year, I plan to attend Texas Tech University, where I will be studying Architecture. Over the past few years, God has been working in my life in tremendous ways. Recently, He has provided me with the opportunity to go on a short-term mission trip from June 3-11, 2017, to Anchorage, Alaska through Hillside Christian Church in Lubbock.
Hillside Christian Church is a non-denominational church who offers many camps and mission trips each year in order to be servants of God. I have been attending summer camps with Hillside the last two years, and I attend their weekly Youth Night on Wednesdays. I heard about this opportunity to serve people around Anchorage, Alaska, and after much prayer and guidance, I decided to commit to going on the trip this summer.
In Alaska, I will be working alongside other students in the community to help serve the needs of those living there. We will be serving healthy meals to hungry kids in disadvantaged communities as well as leading a backyard Bible School for the community children and youth. The Bible School will offer sports, crafts, music, and games, and in the evenings there will be an event in the parks that allow an opportunity to connect with the adults in the community. We will be hosting a cookout, playing music, games, and sports. I am excited to see what God teaches me through this experience.
I would love your support as I go on this mission trip. First and foremost, I ask for your prayers. Specifically, that you would join me in praying for the children and families we will be working with in Anchorage. Another way you can help is by giving financially. This trip is individually funded; therefore I am raising support to go. The trip will cost about $2,000 and my parents have already paid a portion of the cost, but it would be wonderful if you could help support me as well. With a gift of $15, $25, $40, etc., it will help support my trip. Any gift amount will be helpful.
If you would rather make a tax deductible contribution over $50, please contact me or my mom for additional information on how to complete that process.
Thank you for your support and prayers. You can keep up with the progress of my trip on my Instagram (morgteag) or my Facebook page. I am excited about this opportunity to go and serve the people of Anchorage and spread God’s love to others.
Blessings to you,
Morgan
