My name is Robin. My best friend and best friend to many had been fighting this awful disease cancer since August 2015. She had pain in her lower abdomen and she thought she may have a kidney infection or something of that sort. She was visiting a friend in kentucky on their way home from her vacation and the pain became pretty severe. Her husband took her to an Urgent Care and they did xrays and said it looked like cancer. Her husband Tim took her to St Lukes hospital here in St Louis. The doctors did alot of tests and found she did have cancer. Unfortunately she had it in her liver, the outside of her right lung I believe and her thyroid. So she called all her loved ones to let them know and of course we all were in disbelief and fell apart. They started her on chemo and it was so hard on her and her husband. For him to watch them pretty much put poison in her body to kill this cancer and for her to have to go through it. So she went through many rounds of chemo. Around December, she thought she was cancer free but came to find out it was back in her liver , lungs, and she also had brain cancer. She was heartbroken along with everyone else that loved and cared about her. But she said this disease will not get me...Im fighting this damn cancer! She was so brave and sooooo strong but she was scared. She never really let on that she was scared though. About 2 weeks ago the hospital had given her the harshest dose of chemo they could possibly give and it did nothing. Cancer wasnt going anywhere. The family tried getting her to Siteman Cancer Center but after the doctors looked at her records, realized she was too high risk and it would be best to send her home to hospice. Needless to say, we were all in disbelief and knew it was a matter of time.
Jackie was so cute though, she wanted to watch the Daytona 500 Sunday and kept saying Im going to make my lasagna and was also planning on other things in her future with her friends and family. That obviously wasnt in Gods plan. She was only home 2 1/2 days and she passed away. This is so hard for me to get through typing all of this but the reason Im doing this is because her family needs help badly. Her husband Tim whom we love so much and is so lost without her now has so many medical bills coming in, hes scared. He has said he will be paying medical bills for the rest of his life. He doesn't know my husband and I are doing this for him.
So please.......anyone that can help with any amount would be sooooo appreciated. He has to suffer the loss of his wife...its not fair for him to struggle financially also from all of this. Thank you all for reading this story and sure pray that cancer will one day be out of this world.
