Help with Devastating Vet Bills
Aloha Kakou,
Whenever a dog enters the family they immediately win over the hearts and love of all family members, no one could ever imagine having to say goodbye to a puppy less than 2 years after joining the family. On Thursday, July 15th Obi was administered into the Veterinary Emergency Care after showing signs of sickness. Within hours of being admitted to the ER Obi was diagnosed with ITP, with his condition quickly deteriorating. It was identified that Obi had begun internally bleeding within his; brain, stomach and other internal organs. From these complications Obi developed seizures multiple times that day and sadly passed away on Friday July 16th; less than 24 hours of initially being admitted into the ER. During that time Kalei had done everything to save her son's life including; 6 rounds of platelet transfusions, one round of chemo therapy and a number of medications to help with his pain and comfort levels. The once loving puppy that we all new sadly left this world in a way that was both sudden, unexpected and heartbreaking. Since the onset of his sickness was so sudden there was not enough time to prepare financing for this devastating loss.
After already paying $10,000 in initial costs Kalei is facing future bills (estimated at another $10,000) that she will now inherit from the many different forms of treatment. We are asking for any form of help with monetary donations to help off-set these sudden medical expenses. If you know Kalei you know how much Obi meant and means to her. We, her friends, have made this Go Fund Me in order to try and provide some type of financial support for her. Any financial help you can provide is truly appreciated, and if you are not able to we humbly ask that you share this story!
