Seeking Stability

Donation protected
Hi, I wasnt planning on sharing this with many people but here i go.
My name is stephanie. If you know me personally, you know how much of a dumpster fire my life has been. To keep it simple, I grew up in extreme and severe poverty, neglect, and abuse and finally managed to physically remove myself a few months before my 18th birthday.

In the 4 years since then, ive attempted to make something of myself and work, but was never able to keep up with jobs. i’ve been treating my mental health the whole time, and as i tried navigating a world with almost zero financial help from parents and government, i tried over and over to work and make ends meet. I thought it was just due to mental health issues, but recently its been revealed I have a serious autoimmune disorder.

This would explain the chronic unexplained physical pain and aspects of the mental health i've felt my whole life. Flares can often be triggered by stress alone, and lately it is bad enough to the point i am bed ridden even with no viral infection or “reason” for it.

i’ve never had real home security, always hoping and getting lucky with having good friends. With this new health issue, i can no longer hope. I am unable to work as of now at all because of the pain, medications in the meantime, and increased risk of severe illness if i even catch a common cold. i have no idea what might hurt me or help until they can figure out the exact type of disorder, and even then autoimmune disorders are so wide variability of possible complications.

I am waiting for an appointment with a specialist for a specific diagnosis and this may be a very long process before i can get on disability and other assistance and then have secure housing.

My current issue is mostly just figuring out a safe place for me to stay while immunocompromised but I am running low on funds already. Shelters unfortunately are too high traffic for me to be able to go to. I will continue looking at my options and speaking with social workers/etc, but everything is harder legally getting help when i havent seen a specialist/dont have an official diagnosis. i’ve found that Airbnb has been the cheapest option for my needs (private bathroom and private bedroom).

Im here asking anyone who has the ability to help without burdening themselves. I will also keep this updated or can respond to texts for updates if anyone wants. I just don’t want anyone to feel pressured. I appreciate you taking the time to read this.

If you are unable to donate and would like to share, feel free to do so but please do not post it directly to social media, as people may know me and i do not want there to be personal issues within communities. thank you all for reading this and helping.
