Wheels For Josephine's Journey

This is Josephine's Journey...



On May 29th 2020 at 7:57pm Josephine Grace Owen was born. Her parents Nathan and Anna, along with her three siblings Penelope, Harrison, and Charlotte could not wait to meet her. Her much anticipated arrival to the family had been covered in prayers and petitions by many.

Prior to Josephine's birth Nathan and Anna were made aware of some concerns by the Doctors. They proceeded with many tests and continued in anticipation of her arrival. As the results of the test came in there were some concerns but nothing that the tests could fully reveal. They continued to pray and knew that God had control. 

Doctors continued to monitor Josephine and Anna during the pregnancy. As the due date approached they did not know what to prepare for. What the day of Josephine's arrival would be like. Any and every thought that awaiting parents can have about what it might be, they had them. 

The day came for them to meet this blessed baby girl that many had been praying for. She was here! 



After her birth it was clear that Josephine had some challenges ahead but there were still no answers. She was placed in the NICU where they began more tests and monitored her closely as the Health care professionals worked to diagnose what Josephine, Nathan, Anna and Family would be facing. 

For several days health care professionals explored many different paths to determine what Josephine was facing. It finally became more clear and Josephine was diagnosed with Antley-Bixler syndrome. This rare genetic disorder with an estimated prevalence of less than 1 in 1,000,000 can cause structural changes of the skull, bones of the face and other skeletal abnormalities. 

As Nathan and Anna learned of the diagnosis and spent hours reading and talking to Doctors and Health Care officials it was clear that the road ahead would be long. Though there are many uncertainties that lie ahead one thing is for certain. God has a plan for Josephine! 

Since May 29th many have shown incredible love and support to the Owen family. Through donations, meals, helping with the kids and praying they have seen Gods love poured out. They are incredibly humbled and blessed by these acts of love towards their family. God is using you. You have met many needs during these first months. Thank you so much! 

Nathan and Anna are such humble and genuine people that the thought of asking for support is difficult for them to do. The needs that are present for Josephine and the family will be ongoing. As Josephine grows there will be many surgeries, trips to the doctor, transporting of medical supplies and a desire for them to travel all together as a family. Their current vehicle does not have the space nor the features needed to transport Josephine and the family. We would like to provide a way for the love and support they have received thus far to continue to bless them by providing funds to purchase a vehicle that will accommodate the needs for their family.
