Prayers for Tom

My furry nephew is in the veterinary ICU and could use our help. Lauren and Tom are hurting deeply and the bills are piling up as they wait for answers. If you know my them, you know they are full of love and light. Please read below, written by my best friend and sister.

 

 

 

 

“Hi, I'm Lauren and this is the love of my life and best friend, Tom. He is a 4-year-old rescue who loves belly rubs, long walks along the bayou, and his favorite food is butter.

 

Last Sunday we identified a large growth on his leg. Early in the week, he was under the care of several vets and was given the diagnosis of "likely a hematoma". On Friday, he woke up in screaming pain and had to be rushed to the Emergency Hospital. The growth had doubled in size and as of today, Sunday 12/26, he has no use of his right leg. His leg is incredibly swollen and he is in a lot of pain. He is in the care of great doctors, but my heart is breaking open and I am at a loss for how to help my boy.

 

The vets are still not 100% sure what is causing the issue because there is so much swelling, but they are almost certain that it's cancer. I am holding onto hope. I have lost a lot this year and I am praying with all my might that this is something that is curable and can lead Tom to having a long and healthy life. The oncologist and pathologist are going to look at him tomorrow (Monday 12/27) as they have been off work for the holiday.
