******NEW UPDATE!!!!******
Hi, Ethan is on day 6 of his recovery after his spine surgery, and I wanted to write another little update about him. He has now FULL body sensation, as well as being able to now detect where different stimuli are on his body. This is huge news! He is going to Shepards Neurological Rehabilitation Center in Atlanta, Georgia on June 25th. We are going to end the GoFundMe next Tuesday, which is when he will be arriving at the rehabilitation center. We are now trying to raise funds for his transportation as well as various types of rehabs he can hopefully receive that may be expensive due to insurance not covering them! Please continue to share this and keep Ethan in your prayers.
**UPDATE**
Hi, I wanted to write a little update on Ethan’s recovery since his emergency spine surgery. He now has feeling throughout his body and is able to sit up by himself! This is huge news since surgery was only 3 days ago. Ethan will be admitted to a neurological rehabilitation center in Atlanta as soon as a bed is available for him. He will be living at the rehabilitation center for a couple of months, so we would like to continue raising funds for his rising medical bills. Please keep Ethan, his family, and his girlfriend Charlotte in your prayers as he continues his journey to recovery.

Hello, I am writing on behalf of Ethan Welch, and I truly appreciate you taking a moment to read his story. At the beginning of June Ethan joined his girlfriend, Charlotte, and her family on a trip to Pensacola, FL. While he was spending some time swimming in the ocean, he dove in and hit his head on a sand bank. Consequently, Ethan fractured his C6 vertebrae and lost feeling in his legs. He was rushed to the hospital and underwent emergency spine surgery to remove his C6 vertebrae and hopefully relieve some compression. The following morning, he started to regain some feeling in his left leg as well as his upper extremities. Ethan will have to endure extensive physical and occupational therapy in the upcoming months.
Ethan and Charlotte are truly amazing people. Anyone who has met them has nothing but good things to say. I have never known two people who care for others as much as they do, and it is now our time to return the kindness.
Any amount you are able to contribute to his medical expenses is so greatly appreciated. If you are not able to contribute at this time, please share with your friends and family as this would mean the world to Ethan’s family and his amazing girlfriend Charlotte.
