On January 21, 2026, Alissa and Brad Smith and their 7 kids, aged from 18 to 8 years old, suffered a horrible tragedy. At nearly 11 pm, as everyone was settling into bed for the night, they started to smell something burning. Frantically, as Brad was running around the house trying to figure out what the smell was, Alissa was rushing to get all of their children out of the house as it was filling up with smoke. Brad ran outside and opened the basement doors, and smoke immediately billowed out. Their furnace had caught on fire! They had to leave everything they had inside and run outside in the freezing cold. No coats, some kids without shoes, just in their pjs. Thankfully, the fire department responded very quickly and put out the fire in the basement, but unfortunately, there is a lot of smoke damage to the house. Unfortunately due to all the smoke, they have lost everything and are having to start completely over and have to move their whole family out of a house that they had built so many memories in for the last 9 years.
