Gage GoFundMe

Aloha, my name is Iolani and I am starting a GoFundMe on behalf of my 17-year-old nephew, Gage.

Gage was in a terrible dirt bike accident on February 6, 2024, near his home in Lahaina on Maui. His back was broken in five places, he has broken ribs and sustained near-life-threatening lung damage. His injuries were so severe he had to be airlifted to Queens Medical Center on the island of Oahu.

After waiting nearly 24 hours in the ER he went through a lengthy spine surgery. Although the surgery was successful, Gage currently has no movement in his lower limbs. He will need extensive physical and occupational therapies that are only offered on Oahu. We are hopeful for Gage’s full recovery, but the road to recovery is long and uncertain.

Gage is in the prime of his life. Despite the hardships of the Lahaina wildfires - he was determined to finish his senior year and graduate as a Luna. He is a star baseball player and active in all sports. He loves fishing, hunting, and many other outdoor adventures. These injuries would be hard on anyone, but terribly crushing to someone as active as Gage.

Gage needs around-the-clock care on an island far away from home. His family will have to endure traveling back and forth, securing secondary long-term housing, and of course, loss of income to be with their son.
