Since being diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease in 2012, Dana has endured three spinal cord surgeries, two since February 2016; the most recent occuring on September 7th 2017. This debilitating disease has left her with a permanent spinal cord injury and nerve damage affecting her quality of life. With each surgery comes a lengthy recovery period requiring Dana to be off of work for an extended period.
Even with how amazing and supportive Dana's employer has been, the company is small and does not offer short term disability. So, unfortunately, her 3-month leave will be unpaid, resulting in financial hardship for Dana and her husband John.
They are asking their family and friends to come together to support them during this difficult time to recover costs from loss of salary and mounting medical expenses. This will allow Dana and John to focus on maintaining a healthy and positive outlook to ensure Dana's full recovery.
