As you are aware I was diagnosed with this incurable and inoperable and little - known cancer approximately 2 years ago, initially ‘smouldering’ , it has been fully active since December 2022.

All cancers are cruel and devastating and usually require harsh and invasive treatments. My treatment has been chemotherapy, a cocktail of powerful drugs which are injected , infused and administered in tablet form . The results have been effective, albeit temporary. Myeloma is the beast that keeps on giving; the battle can be won, but the outcome of the war is inevitable.

A diagnosis of cancer affects not only the patient, but family and friends. Life changes completely.

Myeloma Uk has been a tremendous source of support and information. Constantly funding research and education it creates hope and the real possibility of finding a cure.

As a result of my chemotherapy my hair is falling out by the handful and will continue to do so until I’m completely bald . It’s distressing . So I’m going to ‘Brave the Shave’ on Wednesday 1st November at 2.30 to raise funds for this invaluable charity.
