8/31 UPDATE: Hello friends, we are writing to update you with some sad news. We have made the humane choice to say goodbye to Zeus today. We did get him an MRI and while the outcome wasn't what we hoped, he deserved to have every possible option explored for a fighting chance. He was the people's dog, lover of everyone and happiest boy you'd ever meet and for those of us that did, we know just how lucky we are to have known him. We are still raising funds to help his family cover the cost of his MRI; anything left over will be donated to other dogs in need of a fighting chance. To everyone that has already donated.. a million thank you's and just thank you all for your support, your kind messages and your love. Zeus deserved a lot more in this life but we know whatever is next for him he'll be zooming through it with all the love in the universe. ❤️

Hi friends, Zeus needs our help! This sweet boy has signs of spondylosis, which is the instability of his cervical vertebrae. It has taken this healthy young man and made him almost immobile, unable to use his front legs to stand up and has reverted to scooting on his face to move around.

We've already done X-Rays and at this point his diagnosis could mean a number of things. He's currently on antibiotics and steroids but in order to give him the best chance of success he'll need an MRI so the vet can get a clear picture of what's really going on in there and what's causing him to be in such pain. An MRI will likely cost around $5,000 and that's just to see what's going on. After that we anticipate there will be a next course of action that will most certainly require additional funds.

Zeus is only 2 years old and even the vet has said he is really young to have these changes in his vertebrae. His human family spends so much time putting others before themselves, helping whenever anyone asks and they always show up for their people. Now it's our turn, let's show up for Zeus and help our boy get on a path to recovery so he can get back to the good life chasing squirrels and all the park zoomies his heart desires.
