Friends of Tina

If there is one person that I know who has always put others first, it's our dearest friend, Tina. Now it is time for the world to show Tina how much we care and love her during a time she needs us most.

On Sept 30 while participating on an “E&I Wonderful Wednesday Call” Tina heard a sudden water drip that she discovered wasn’t coming from her kitchen sink but from her kitchen ceiling.   Within 20 minutes the "drip" became a "pour" and the source was a sewer pipe break from the unit above her.  Within 20 minutes  (see video) water was gushing in.  Within 2 hours the ceiling actually collapsed and fortunately Tina wasn’t inside when it collapsed.

Not only was it a sewer pipe break with COVID contamination risk when the ceiling collapsed and emergency crews arrived they discovered Asbestos. Fortunately she tested negative for COVID 

 Unfortunately sewer water and the asbestos has contaminated “all” of her belongings; electronics, and any fiber items.   She left on 9/30 with her dog and a few pieces of clothing and hasn’t been allowed back in to the apartment since due to the contamination and her entire apartment contents has been deemed a total loss
Asbestos removal will commence on November 5 and apartment restoration of ceiling repairs and other damages will follow and is being covered by the landlord/owner. 

Tina along with her beloved dog Baylee have been staying at a hotel property since 9/30 which ends on November 13.   While she has renters insurance the damages and loss to her personal possessions far exceed her coverages.  She hopes to resume occupancy on or around Dec 1 once all repairs have been made.
