Building a Better Life

I know many people with generous and caring hearts and I am certain that together we can make a difference!

I've known Rosie since she was 12 years old. I've been a mentor and friend to her, and have watched her grow to be a hard-working, thoughtful young woman and a loving mom to her one-year-old son. She is one of the most resilient people I've ever met and I'm very proud of her.

Rosie's childhood was one of ongoing trauma and abuse. She has been working very hard to create a better life for her child than the one she had. 

Rosie is currently enrolled in Madison College and will soon complete her first year. She's held down two part-time jobs while in school but recently lost one job when her childcare situation abruptly changed. Because of where she lives, it is almost impossible for her to travel by bus between child care, school, and work on time.  She had an old used car for a while but the repairs and towing ate up much of her savings and it is no longer usable.

Having a vehicle will enormously impact the trajectory of Rosie's life. That might seem like an overstatement, but reliable transportation will help her stay in school, transport her son to quality daycare, and remain employed so that she can find a better living environment for herself and her son. 

Will you please help me raise money to purchase a reliable used car for Rosie and get her started with insurance? My wonderful husband has volunteered to help her find a reliable car from a reputable dealer. 

We have pledges of $2,500 from generous friends to help us reach our final goal of $9,500 (plus service fees for this campaign).
