Hi I’m Ben’s mum Sharon and I’m fundraising to help Ben raise funds to have a Rugby Wheelchair made for him.

Ben was born prematurely and suffered lack of oxygen to the brain resulting in quadraplegic cerebral palsy. Despite being told Ben would not be able to do anything or communicate, he has defied his diagnosis and proved that if you are determined you can overcome anything.

The one thing that has given Ben his amazing spirit is sport. Coming from a very sporty family he had no choice but to give everything a go.

He found wheelchair rugby at age 16 and has not looked back. He started playing Wheelchair Rugby League which he is still involved in but at age 20 he started to play Paralympic Rugby.

For the last 8 years he has developed his game and gone from strength to strength . For his level of disability he does amazingly well. In order for him to progress further (his goal is to play for his country) he needs to have a chair built for him and his ability.

Up until now he has borrowed club chairs but it is holding him back as they are not built for him and balanced correctly.

A made to measure chair will cost in the region of £8000 to £10,000 which is out of reach for Ben, hence the fundraising to get him started so he can at least have a fitting.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated and gets Ben one step closer to his dream.
