In Loving Memory of Tristan Moua

Donation protected
If prayers are heard and wishes come true we ask that everyone who reads this, please say a prayer or make a wish for our little nephew Tristan Moua to find peace.  As much as we all loved him, his young life was tragically taken too soon on September 24,  2015.

Tristan Moua was born on July 29, 2014 the younger of a set of twins. He just celebrated his first birthday.  His parents, Linda Thao and Thong Moua, tried many years to conceive, undergoing various fertility treatments to finally be able to have Tristan and his brother. When we found out that they were expecting, we were overwhelmed with happiness, and when the boys were born we could feel that the family was complete.

On Monday, September 14, 2015, Linda and Thong endured every parent’s worst nightmare.  Tristan Moua had to be rushed to the ER at Valley Children's Hospital. He had a seizure and was still continuing to seize even at the ER. In an effort to try and stop the seizing which had been happening for over 30 minutes, Tristan was given an injection. After the injection, he went into cardiac arrest. Tristan Moua was almost pronounced dead, but after 37 minutes of CPR and nonstop persistence from his parents, a pulse was found.

Spinal tap tests and other tests all came back negative. The only information that the doctor could give was that Tristan had a febrile seizure, a seizure brought on from a high fever. Doctors were able to confirm that Tristan had a UTI, but UTI's are very rare in boys. It is still unknown as to why Tristan was seizing so long and why he went into cardiac arrest. An MRI was performed and showed that Tristan's brain had swollen and tests showed lack of brain activity.  Even under those circumstances, we could not help but to hope for the best....  even believe in miracles.

We, Tristan's aunts and uncles, love Tristan, Anson (his twin), and Linda and Thong more than anything. Although everyone’s hope was for a miracle, we sadly saw that it was challenging every day for Tristan to hold on and be with us.  As much as we wanted him to stay with us, his suffering was heartbreaking to watch and Linda and Thong had to make the difficult decision to let him find peace.

Linda and Thong have endured a tremendous loss and not only do they have to prepare a funeral for their young son, but they have to worry about medical expenses during a time when they are still grieving and in mourning.  In response to this tragedy, we have established this account to support the family during this extremely difficult time.  We kindly ask that you please consider making a donation to help the family.  Any help, even a prayer, would be much appreciated.

The family would like to take this opportunity to express their sincerest appreciation to all the friends and family who have called, visited and provided support, and to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera, CA for caring for Tristan and accommodating the family during Tristan’s stay.

For anyone who has children, grandchildren, or nieces and nephews, please take the time to hug them, play with them, and show them how much you love them.  Make every moment count. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.

We love you Tristan and are so fortunate to have had you in our lives!
