Vivo en Estados Unidos desde 2003 con mi esposo, Luis. Él fue detenido el 23 de enero. Tengo dos hijas con Luis, de 15 y 12 años.

Mis hijas están sufriendo mucho por la ausencia de su padre. Él es el pilar de nuestro hogar. Es un buen hombre, un buen esposo, un buen padre y un buen vecino. Trabaja muy duro. Debido a esta situación tan estresante, nuestra hija mayor ha estado recibiendo terapia para la ansiedad desde diciembre. Es muy triste verla así y me duele profundamente.

Los honorarios legales hasta el momento ascienden a $9000 y han permitido que Luis regrese a Minnesota y obtenga una audiencia de fianza en la próxima semana. La familia necesita fondos para cubrir los gastos legales de la solicitud de la audiencia de fianza, programada para el 5 de febrero. Necesitamos fondos para cubrir el monto de la fianza que se establezca (probablemente entre $10,000 y $20,000), así como para pagar los honorarios legales posteriores para solicitar que se le permita permanecer en Estados Unidos.

El abogado cree que tiene un caso sólido para que Luis sea liberado bajo fianza. Pero si no se le concede la fianza y es deportado, estos fondos ayudarán a la familia durante este período sin ingresos, y también a la reubicación de Luis o de toda la familia en Ecuador si fuera necesario. My daughters are suffering a lot because of their father's absence. He is the pillar of our home. He is a good man, a good partner, a good father, and a good neighbor. He works very hard. Because of this stressful time, our oldest daughter has been in therapy for anxiety since December. It's very sad to see this, and it hurts me deeply.

Legal fees to date total $9,000 and have allowed Luis to return to Minnesota and secure a bond hearing next week. The family needs funds to cover the legal costs of the bond hearing application, scheduled for February 5th. They also need funds to cover the bond amount that will be set (likely between $10,000 and $20,000), as well as subsequent legal fees to petition for permission for him to remain in the United States.

The lawyer thinks he has a strong case, but if bail is not granted and Luis' is deported, the funds will help the family through this time without income and as they resettle Luis or all of them in Ecuador if necessary. Any unused or returned bail funds will be paid into a rotating bail fund for other immigrant detainees.
