Gowran N.S Extension Fundraiser 2020

The long awaited extension at Gowran National School is almost completed. The spacious new classroom will be a very welcome addition and we will be able to reclaim our P.E. Hall. The staff are also looking forward to moving out of the current storage area into the new staff room. Government grants will cover the cost of the classroom and the staff room is being financed by the Board of Management. However, additional expenses are not covered by the grants. These include extra site access costs, the provision of a wheelchair ramp, storage presses and shelves in the new classroom, marmoleum floor covering for the old corridor, coat racks etc.

Due to the pandemic last March, we were unable to hold our sponsored walk, which is our annual fundraiser and it won’t be possible to hold this or any similar venture this coming year either. Having waited for so long for our new classroom, we would dearly love to complete it fully now, providing the best resources we can for our pupils, as well as meeting the additional costs incurred.

We understand that 2020 has been a difficult year for everyone and that there are many requests for support, but we would greatly appreciate any financial contribution from parents, local businesses, neighbours and friends in the locality to complete these necessary works.
