So many were privileged to share a very special bond with our beloved friend, Govner Thorp.

Gov was simply a joy to be around. He had a sharp, effortless sense of humor that could lighten even the heaviest days, and his laughter was just as generous as his spirit. He gave freely of himself—to colleagues, patients, and anyone who crossed his path—never hesitating to help, encourage, and care for them. His presence, kindness, and dedication left an imprint that will never fade.

He honorably served our country; a chapter of his life that reflected the same selflessness and quiet strength we all came to admire.

For nearly 32 years following, Gov gave his work in the healthcare field not only his time and skill, but his heart. In doing so, he became a quiet guidepost for so many of us—including myself. His example showed what it means to build a career rooted in integrity, humility, and unwavering care for others.

Through his counsel, his steady presence, and the way he carried himself every day, he helped shape the path and longevity of many others' journeys. Watching him consistently work hard, serve others, and show up - Gov never failed to be a consistent presence and force to be reckoned with...

To so many of us, he was more than just a coworker or colleague—he was a source of wisdom, compassion, laughter, and steady support—he was family.

Many have inquired for an opportunity to contribute to relieving Gov's grandson of some of the costs to provide Govner with the memorial and funeral services he deserves.
