Support Danna!

My very special friend, Danna, a 22-year-old who is a utterly remarkable human being and a first generation college student- studying as a bass trombonist at the Sibelius Academy- was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, a Rhabdomyosarcoma in her sinus, on April 13, 2018.  

Danna is an inspiration to everyone around her because of the grace with which she leads her life. When she called to tell me about her diagnosis, she said "this might be the biggest blessing in my life, because it is making me really know what matters."

The world is truly better off because of her bright, daring spirit, and we are excited that she is soon to be a Rhabdomyosarcoma survivor! Danna is being treated in Helsinki now, and she and her family have a tremendous financial burden to bear. One of the medications Danna needs regularly costs $1500 per injection, and she now has to pay for day-to-day living expenses while being unable to work. She is facing hospital bills and her parents, Candy and Dan who are in Finland to support her, could use help with accomodation and travel costs. Anything we can do to lighten this load will be received with deep gratitude and will allow the Nelson family to focus their energy on Danna and her health.

Danna has lit up all of our lives with love and positivity, and now it is our time to give back!
