You Were Always Meant to Be
--------------------------------------------
After nearly 7 years of trying to conceive a baby Aliesha and Chris welcomed their little girl Adelynn Nichole into the world on December 10th, 2019. She was born over 3 months early weighing only 1lb 5oz. A few weeks prior, Aliesha had been admitted to the hospital at only 25 weeks gestation so doctors and nurses could monitor her and the baby's health around the clock. Then at just over 27 weeks after a routine ultrasound to check the baby's health, the doctors decided it was time for Addy to come out. At that point Aliesha and Chris were immediately prepped to head down to the operating room for an emergency C-section.

Welcome to the World - NICU #1
--------------------------------------------
From the minute Adelynn was born at a tiny 600 grams, her NICU journey has been nothing but a rollercoaster. In her brief but eventful life thus far little Addy has already had a heart surgery, been intubated 3 separate times, battled 2 serious infections, been given dozens of blood transfusions, and has lived through more than 8 major code events where her heart rate dropped to dangerous levels requiring emergency resuscitation with chest compressions, epinephrine shots, and maximum mechanical ventilation support. Her most severe episode, which took place the morning of March 20th, lasted over an hour and included two separate code events. After spending almost an hour physically pumping Adelynn's lungs and heart, the doctor on call had the unspeakable discussion with Chris and Aliesha saying they had done everything they could do and that she probably wasn't going to make it. Addy and God had different plans.

  A New Home - NICU #2
--------------------------------------------
After spending her first 136 days at the Sharp Mary Birch NICU, she was transferred over to Rady Children's Hospital on April 24th where she will most likely stay for the remainder of her journey in the NICU. Doctors there are currently taking things very slow, only at Addy's pace and although she's already 5 months old, doctors have made it clear it will be at the very least several more months (beginning of Fall 2020) before she is able to come home.

  How You Can Help
--------------------------------------------

Having a micro preemie in the NICU for such a long period of time comes with a huge financial burden which no one can really prepare for. The money raised here will be used for Addy's stay in the NICU and all future medical expenses that will arise over the first several years of her life. No donation is too small. The continuous love and support for Addy has gotten her where she is today and we are so grateful! Help us bring little Addy home!

Thank you all for the support, prayers, and love for our sweet little miracle!
