First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has reached out. And to the ones who have not because they don’t know what to say: I understand, because neither do I, but I appreciate every bit of love I’ve ever received regarding my dad in these incredibly hard past few years we’ve shared together, and in the years previous. I feel very thankful for how much community my dad and I both have here in New Orleans and beyond.

A lot of you have reached out about bringing meals/groceries to my brother and I, wanting to stop by, or sending a text to just check in and asking how you can help.

I’ve decided to create this gofundme for anyone willing to contribute to the Celebration of Life that I’m orchestrating to really honor the fun & animated person that my dad was. If all goes as planned, there will be music, dancing, crawfish, butterflies, maybe some chocolate, and sharing of memories and laughter. If you feel ever inclined, we wld welcome all donations. The celebration will be open to anyone who wants to stop by to honor my loving dad with us. Donations are not necessary to attend, but certainly appreciated.

All donations beyond the cost of the Celebration will be donated to GoGreenNOLA, in the hopes to carry on his pursuit of coastal restoration. Many people are very familiar with my dads passion of raising butterflies and a bountiful garden (“Gordon’s Garden of Eaten”). What most may not know is that my Dad used to grow cypress trees and other greenery in his front yard to an appropriate size, dig em up, and take his kayak out into the marshlands to re-plant them in an attempt to single-handedly restore the coastland. This man never stopped trying to contribute, be it through environmental restoration, or speaking up for and donating to people in need all over the world. I want to continue those efforts in his name. ❤️‍
