Gordon "Gogs" Peddie
Donation protected
As many of you will already know, Gordon “Gogs” Peddie passed away on the 18th of February 2014 after a 14-month battle with cancer. He is survived by Kat and Ethan.
All who knew Gogs will know of his love of laughter, his bravery in facing any task, and his commitment to his family. Gogs would want the people who loved him to do what they could to support Kat and Ethan, just as he would for them.
Next month Ethan will be turning 13, the cusp of adulthood, he will face this without his farther. While we can never replace that loss, we can help take the sting out of the times they would have spent together.
We want to raise funds to help Ethan visit Cyprus We want Ethan to see where his parents met (Rhodes), where he was first thought of, where he was made. Cyprus is a place his dad loved, where he spent time with his wife, creating memories of love. We want Kat and Ethan to visit places dear to Gogs, for Kat to have time to explore with Ethan the kind of man his dad was, and let Ethan develop into the kind of man Gogs would be proud of.
No amount of money can fill the void felt by Gogs death, but it can make the times to come a little less sad. There are so many lives that Gordon, Kat and Ethan touched in so many ways. We will never get the chance to repay what Gordon did, we would love for people to help give back to his family what we all wanted for them in life, especially now they can no longer be in his life. Kat and Ethan deserve the chance to create a new memory where some of Gordon's best memories exist.
Let's make it happen for them all, I'm sure Gogs will smile at that wherever he is now.
EDIT: I have raised the target to £2000 to try and allow both Kat and Ethan to go together with no need to worry about the costs of this trip, everyone is struggling so much these days but you cannot put a price on the loss of a loved one, a spouse or parent.
Thankyou so much to all who have donated so far, please continue to share this far and wide.
We say our final farewells to Gordon on Wednesday, I would love to be able to follow through on his promise, to give Kat and Ethan a glimmer of sunshine on their darkest day. I want to do proud by my best friend, he spent his life giving to others.
