- My father, Gordon Breaux, is sadly battling his second go with cancer currently. However, this time his cancer is much stronger and more rare. Gordon possesses a rare head and neck cancer that he was diagnosed with a little over a month ago but has been developing over the last year. The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is the only place possible that truly understands this cancer and can provide him with the three rounds of chemo therapy needed to shrink the growing tumors and the appropriate strength of radiation to eradicate it. Unfortunately, my father will have to be in Minnesota for 7 weeks straight and it will be nothing less than easy for him. Gordon, my mother and my sister will have made 7 trips total before these 7 long weeks ahead to Minnesota for check ups, CT scans, and chemo therapy. As you can infer this means my father won't be able to work to begin saving towards paying off the great expense of having to stay there so long due to his illness. Anyone who knows my dad knows what an extremely hard worker he is for he has been a welder for the oil & gas industry for 40 years and has never failed to provide for his family. My family doesn't want anything more than to get this tumor shrunk and for this man to beg back to being healthy and with us for as many years as God allows!
