Gorda's Emergency: A Family's Plea for Help

I am Karla Nunez, the one seen in the picture. The husky in the picture is named Baby but out of love since she was a baby we call her Gorda. Today evening we left to go pick up something up and the moment we got home we noticed that she was not okay, she was panting and her tongue was already purple. We immediately rushed out to the animal ER and they told us that she is in very critical condition. She has something called a GVD which is when she has her stomach twisted. They were charging us from $16,000-21,000. They told us that if she doesn’t receive this surgery she will not survive for long. The doctor told us that this surgery has to be done ASAP. At first we were at the VCA animal hospital in Lawndale and they did X-rays, pain meds, and different procedures to stabilize her. We are currently transferring her to another hospital. They are asking for 8-10k to do this surgery. We love this dog with all our heart and would sell anything for she could receive this surgery but unfortunately we don’t have this amount of money to give this upfront. The only other option they gave us is to put her to sleep but my dog is so strong and she is happy, I don’t have the heart to put her down knowing that she is a fighter. We appreciate any thing given and is accepted with great gratitude.
