Goose and Small Animal Rescue Net Gun
Donation protected
We are still accepting donations after reaching our goal for a net gun. We would like to purchase a couple pairs of Kevlar bite and claw proof gloves and some hip waders for water situations for both men and women. Thank you to all who have donated!! Please follow the Facebook page to see how your donation is being put to use to help local wildlife now and in the future.
Champaign Urbana Wild Animal Rescue (CUWAR) is composed of a local group of volunteers that work in the community to help injured or trapped animals. These animals are often captured and brought to the University of Illinois Wildlife Clinic for help. Since its inception, the group has worked tirelessly to rescue many distressed animals in the community. Geese comprise most rescues, but possums, hawks, vultures, and squirrels have also been caught and cared for.

Some animals are easy to catch because they are either quite tame, seriously injured, or in a location that makes them easy to trap. However, we frequently go out on multiple rescue trips that fail because the birds elude capture despite our nets, fences, and kayaks. Most of these birds and small animals will die without our help.
We desperately need an animal net gun to capture these injured animals humanely and get them the medical attention they deserve.
As an entirely volunteer force, CUWAR has no funds. CUWAR charges nothing for the rescues we complete. Can you help us save more animals? The net launching gun will enable use to rescue some of these birds that we would otherwise not be able to save. Purchasing extra nets and CO2 cartridges will ensure that multiple group members can use the net gun and always have a source of CO2 power.
