GoFundMe for James Ellwood – Standing Together for a legend.

This November, several of the Goole United lads are taking part in Movember to raise funds and awareness in support of our good friend James Ellwood, and for Stem Cell Donor charities that give people like James a fighting chance.

If it takes us looking a bit silly with a moustache for a month to raise awareness and support such an important cause — it’s more than worth it!

James’ Story -

“After four lines of therapy, including a self stem cell transplant, 80% of people recover from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Unfortunately, I’m one of the 20% who face a significant medical challenge after that — sadly, things didn’t work out.”

James is now preparing for an important donor stem cell transplant, which will rebuild his immune system and hopefully allow him to beat the disease once and for all.

If all goes well, this treatment could take place in late January.

A Big Part of Our Community -

James is a hugely popular figure in Goole, and the Ellwood family have always supported our club — sponsoring and helping with local fundraising whenever they’ve been asked.

Now it’s our turn to show the same support for them.

Why It Matters?-

“Stem cell donation is a non-invasive procedure that could save a life like mine. It’s so important we raise awareness for everyone struggling with blood cancer and support the charities that help us through.”
