Hi, I'm Unstable Cat or Saida, and I'm raising funds for my sweet cat Goofy, who urgently needs a tail amputation and heart medication.

On April 28th, Goofy’s tail got caught in a closing door, and he tragically lost the tip. Because the bone is exposed, about one-third of his tail now needs to be surgically removed—there's no other safe option, as they can’t stitch it and the risk of infection is high.

During his vet check, they also discovered a heart murmur. After a scan, we found out that Goofy has Cardiomyopathy, a heart condition that increases his risk of thrombosis (blood clots). Under normal circumstances, they wouldn’t operate due to his heart, but the injury makes surgery unavoidable.

So far, just the initial vet visit, pain meds, antibiotics, and heart scan have already cost around €400. The upcoming surgery, tail amputation, and medication are expected to cost an additional €500 to €1000. His surgery will happen on Thursday May 8th.

Hoi, ik ben Unstable Cat of Saida en ik zamel geld in voor mijn lieve kat Goofy, die dringend een staartamputatie en hartmedicatie nodig heeft.

Op 28 april raakte Goofy’s staart bekneld tussen een sluitende deur, waardoor hij het puntje van zijn staart is kwijtgeraakt. Omdat het bot nu blootligt, moet er ongeveer een derde van zijn staart worden geamputeerd. Hechten is geen optie en zonder operatie is de kans op infectie te groot.

Tijdens de controle hoorde de dierenarts ook een hartruis. Na een hartecho bleek dat Goofy cardiomyopathie heeft, een hartziekte die het risico op trombose (bloedklonters) verhoogt. Normaal gesproken zouden ze hem met zo’n hartconditie niet opereren, maar door de open wond aan zijn staart is er helaas geen andere keus.

Tot nu toe zijn we na de eerste dierenartsbezoek, pijnstilling, antibiotica en hartecho al ongeveer €400 kwijt. De operatie, amputatie en medicatie gaan waarschijnlijk tussen de €500 en €1000 kosten. Zijn operatie is a.s. Donderdag 8 Mei.

Goofy is niet zomaar een kat – hij is een van de meest zachtaardige katten die ik ooit heb mogen verzorgen. Met jullie hulp hoop ik dat hij kan herstellen en straks trots rondloopt met zijn nieuwe, iets kortere staart.
