The last day for Go Fund Me is approaching soon. Monday August 5th is our cutoff date for this venue. If you have contributed in this endeavor to honor Mr. Goodson, we are thankful. If there is someone who you think would like to be included, please contact them. Thank you everyone!
Help the Tiger Band buy a headstone for Mr. Goodson!
As most of you know, longtime Daingerfield High School band director, Bill Goodson passed away in January 2018. Some of his former students and co-workers were present for the memorial service. Many memories and stories were shared that day!
Since that time there have been some conversations about his former Daingerfield students and friends and others who knew him doing something that would show our appreciation for his artistic and creative approach to band music that made such an impression on our lives.
Carolyn (Terrell) Freeman ,class of '74, reached out to David Lanagan, class of '71 and Sharon (Buchanan) Watson, class of '73, with her thoughts and together they have come up with an idea they hope you'll love as much as they do. Judy Lanagan McMurrian, class of '70 is also helping.
David and Carolyn have both spoken with Kenny Goodson and he has agreed to allow us to go forward with presenting this to others.
We would love to honor Mr. Goodson with a custom designed headstone. Roy Nail is working with us to make that vision happen. We hope to raise $1600 to cover the headstones and getting them set in place. As we are doing this for Mr. Goodson, if we raise enough, we would like to do a small memorial stone for Mrs. Goodson as well.
Please contact and share with others who may be interested in this opportunity.
Watch for further posts about an unveiling and reunion time in Daingerfield after the stone is set.
