Good News Films Gospel series

Donación protegida
Twenty years ago, a friend sketched a simple image that changed my life — a cross bridging a gap, with a stick man on one side and a heart on the other. That moment opened my eyes to my need for Jesus.

I want to create a series of films which illustrate’s different parts of the gospel to help people like me who had to have a picture to understand Jesus and for the large majority of people who prefer to learn through video.

The simple gospel has been described like this:

God made you and desires a relationship with you.
But sin separates you from Him.
Jesus took the punishment our sins deserve.
If you turn from sin and trust in Him, you’ll be forgiven, accepted by grace, filled with His Spirit, and promised eternal life.

I want to bring these truths to life through a series of short, cinematic, and engaging films — designed to be watchable, shareable, and visually rich, grounded firmly in Scripture.
These films will be distributed freely to churches and widely across platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok to reach as many people as possible. But their permanent home will be www.goodnewsfilms.co.uk, where they’ll sit alongside real-life testimonies that demonstrate the gospel in action.
These testimonies are free to produce and I intend to grow it into a large catalogue not only to support the gospel films but as a source of help and encouragement

I managed to fund the first gospel film, 'Confident in Your Own Goodness' which cost £6,000 to launch the project (shown above) but now I need your help to make the rest!
I own all the necessary filming equipment and am personally supported through my own film company — so 100% of funds raised will go directly to production costs like actors, locations, and shoot expenses. Anyone who supports the project will have a full breakdown of costs to know how the money raised was spent and also be kept up to date with a video diary! (If I don't think I have your contact please email me through goodnewsfilms.co.uk if you want to stay up to date with how the project is going)
My goal is to raise funds during May, begin filming through June to August, complete editing in September and October, and release the next two films in November 2025.
Once the next two gospel films are complete, more testimonies are captured, and the initial content is shared and distributed, I plan to expand the series even further — gradually illustrating the full scope of the gospel. But for now, my focus is on achieving a clear and manageable first step.

Marked by God with God

It's impossible to capture the fullness of the Holy Spirit in just one passage — so for this film, I’ll be taking a Bible overview approach instead. I've gone through every mention of the Holy Spirit in Scripture and, apart from a few connecting words, I’ve woven together the verses themselves, allowing God's Word to speak for itself.
For the sake of creating a short, impactful online film, I’ve had to leave out a few sections that, while valuable, aren’t essential for someone to grasp a clear picture of who the Holy Spirit is. That said, this overview is still comprehensive and rich.
We begin with the Spirit present at creation. Then, we witness how God enters into humanity by His Spirit — choosing to fill certain individuals for specific, divine purposes. As the story unfolds, God promises to pour out His Spirit, not just on a few, but on a future generation.
Jesus affirms this, promising His disciples that the Holy Spirit will be given without limit to those who ask.

We see that:
The love of God is poured into our hearts through the Spirit.
The Spirit helps us overcome sin.
He distributes spiritual gifts throughout the Church.
He confirms our identity in Christ,
And finally, the Spirit assures us of our eternal future in heaven.

Visually, this film will stand apart from the others in the series — Artistic, and dynamic. From a drone shot of runners in a field casting long shadows in the golden evening light (capturing the call to “keep in step with the Spirit”), to slow-motion footage of vibrant paints being poured into a pot, representing the Spirit-filled Bezalel the artist — this project is rich with symbolism and beauty.
I'm incredibly excited about this film. The Holy Spirit is so often overlooked in gospel presentations — but He is central to the Christian life. This film is my attempt to give Him the attention and honor He deserves.

Motivational video gone wrong (working title)

This video powerfully explores the heart of the gospel: how sin separates us from God, how Jesus took the punishment we deserve, and how grace is not something we can earn.
To instantly capture attention, the gospel is presented in the familiar style of a motivational video—but with a dramatic twist. It begins with fast-paced, high-energy visuals of strong, determined individuals pushing themselves through intense workouts and labor. A voiceover kicks in, echoing the tone of countless inspirational clips flooding the internet—urging viewers to work harder, make sacrifices, anything is possible and no one will do it for you.
But then, the tone shifts.
The voice begins to challenge that very mindset. It reveals a deeper truth: no matter how hard you try, the most important thing in life—being made right with God—is completely beyond human effort. The characters freeze mid-action, confused by what they’re hearing. The voiceover poses a sobering question: what if every thought, every secret, every action you’ve ever had was sent as a message to everyone you know? We’d all fall short—not just in the eyes of others, but in the eyes of God.
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
The video quickly and relatably walks through God’s law, intercut with scenes from the characters’ lives—flashes of pride, anger, deceit, and failure.
To illustrate the result of sin “The wages of sin is death” The film shows each person lying motionless on the floor. A blend of sweeping drone shots and intimate close-ups reveals chalk outlines around their bodies—a striking symbol of spiritual death.

The voice-over explains our human approach to save ourselves, do more good and lower the bad, to tip the moral scales in our favour but salvation isn’t something you achieve it’s a gift.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” — Ephesians 2:8–9
We couldn’t climb high enough, So Jesus came down. We couldn’t clean ourselves up, So He took on our mess. The sacrifice we could never make—He made for us.
“God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” — 2 Corinthians 5:21
At this turning point, a mysterious man appears. He walks slowly toward each lifeless person, kneels beside them, and whispers something we can’t hear. Their eyes open. They rise. And then, in a powerful act of substitution, the man lies down in their place—within their chalk outlines.
The message is clear: Your effort won’t save you but his sacrifice can.
