Build a roller rink in Lincoln!

Hi! My name is Cassie Stout and I'm the owner of Good Life Skate Center, LLC. Good Life Skate Center is more than just a business. In fact, I chose the name Good Life Skate Center for several reasons.
For one, I truly believe we live the "good life" here in Nebraska. From small towns to big cities, Nebraskans work hard, learn fast and grow strong. And, we do it all with grace. At Good Life Skate Center, #SkateTheGoodLife is more than a catchy hashtag we came up with. Inspired by Nebraska's (previous) slogan, its real life in Nebraska with really hard-working Nebraskans.
Second, I have a passion for roller skating and the memories roller skating creates. Yes, some of those memories might include a bruise or two on my butt, but I always got back up and I always started rolling again! Roller skating has been enjoyed around the globe since the early 1700s. It's been intertwined into music, dance and sports since then. From roller derby to jam skating, I love that roller skating brings together a community from all walks of life. There's a love and understanding you get from being a skater. And yes, even if you "can't skate", being on skates makes you a skater and we can teach you to be a better skater at one of our many skate lessons!
Last but certainly not least, Good Life Skate Center's mission is to offer more than just roller skating at it's facility. We want more than anything to offer cheap, wholesome, family friendly recreation and entertainment. Roller skating, jungle gyms, play sets including foam pits and rock climbing are just the tip of the ice berg. Let's not forget about the birthday and private parties, ridiculously cheap concessions, arcade games and retro glow in the dark carpet! And. So. Much. More.
While we've been in business for 1 year (Happy Birthday To Us!) and we've done well in the growth department, we need your help. Here's why:
We currently rent space at Lincoln Sports Foundation (7600 N 70th St) for our skate sessions, lessons and parties. While we are forever indebted to LSF for their generosity and availability, we, Good Life Skate Center, have grown significantly in the last 12 months. That growth required us to reevaluate where we are, where we're going and where we want to be. Growth can be great but it can also be challenging. The challenge with our growth is that we're outgrowing LSF's availability. We are one of many tenants at LSF and therefore we share the space with several sports teams. What we've learned about Good Life Skate Center since being in operation at LSF is that we need more time on the floor. We need day time, evening time, weekday time and weekend time. Currently, we can only operate on weekends, during the evening and only on occasion can we hold sessions in the day during the week and weekends, especially during basketball season. So what does all that mean!?
We need our own space.
That's where you come in. Since we are renting space at LSF, almost all of our budget goes towards rent. The other portion of our budget goes towards business insurance, concessions, marketing and a tiny amount remains for miscellaneous business expenses such as printing gift certificates, buying counterfeit pens and making/printing customer facing signs. With your donation and helping us reach our goal of $50,000 we'll be able to put down a payment on property of our own. We're currently in the process of looking for property, collecting funds and obtaining financing for said property but we won't get far without a massive down payment which we just don't have.
Roller skating is growing (again) in popularity and we want future generations to enjoy it like we did when we were kids. Let's give them something fun to do with their friends and family and help us grow into a new home!
