This opportunity is a frustrating situation waiting to happen. The room is in place and the books are on the floor. We are so close to altering the future of these students possibilities.

For children already struggling against economic hardship, this confusion isn't inspiration; it's a monumental barrier and a lost opportunity. 

Right now, more than 170 brilliant, potential-filled young students in Ing. Roque Rubio public primary school in Atotonilco Gto, - a small, rural community near San Miguel de Allende, México- they have books, but no library.

There are hundreds of precious books—the keys to math, science, history, and incredible stories - just to mention a few- are currently wasted, sitting in dusty, disorganized piles on the floor of a classroom.This lack of reaching the books directly threatens their educational future.

We have a devoted community volunteer who reads to these children weekly (promoting reading as a habit). She knows that we are failing them by letting the tools for success remain inaccessible. We must act now.

Esta oportunidad es una situación frustrante que está a punto de ocurrir. El espacio está listo y los libros están en el suelo. Estamos muy cerca de cambiar el futuro de estos estudiantes.

Para niños que ya luchan contra las dificultades económicas, esta incertidumbre no es una inspiración; es una barrera monumental y una oportunidad perdida.

En este momento, más de 170 brillantes jovenes estudiantes y llenos de potencial en la escuela primaria publica Ing. Roque Rubio en Atotonilco Gio, una pequeña comunidad rural cerca de San Miguel de Allende México, tienen libros, pero no biblioteca.

Cientos de valiosos libros —claves para las matemáticas, las ciencias, la historia y relatos increíbles, solo por mencionar algunos— se desperdician, amontonados polvorientos y desordenados en el suelo de un aula. Esta falta de acceso directo a los libros amenaza su futuro educativo.

Contamos con una dedicada voluntaria de la comunidad que lee a estos niños semanalmente (fomentando el hábito de la lectura). Ella sabe que les estamos fallando al permitir que las herramientas para el éxito permanezcan inaccesibles. Debemos actuar ahora.

Nuestra misión es ejecutar una transformación completa y rápida: convertir esta bodega en un espacio de aprendizaje vibrante, organizado y sagrado. Esta nueva biblioteca será un santuario de lectura, un hermoso refugio donde cada niño se sentirá motivado activamente a tomar un libro y descubrir el camino hacia una vida adulta exitosa.

3 fascinantes rincones (nichos) de lectura acolchados de 1.5 x 1.5 x 1.2 m de ancho, una especie de cueva para humanos, que los jóvenes lectores explorarán para leer su nuevo libro favorito.

Iluminación mejorada según sea necesario para crear espacios luminosos para leer y estudiar.

Alfombras de plástico duraderas para iluminar el espacio y suavizar el eco asociado con los suelos de hormigón.

Un árbol artificial a medida con estanterías adicionales para estimular la creatividad de las mentes jóvenes.
