Goodbye, My Love, New York! Moving Costs Support :)

I’m leaving NYC on August 1st (like many people have) because I’m in debt both for the reason I came here (college) and just living here. It is extremely expensive to live here, and if I am to continue making work, space, leading workshops, organizing etc, I'll have to do more than just survive. So, I am moving. I found a dream home in a dream neighborhood and I saved just enough for it so that is COVERED. Moving costs are REALLY HIGH! And now that the big beautiful bill has passed, I will also not have Medicaid. I already pay everything out of pocket anyway, so I would love to ensure having some $$$ for health stuff. I am planning on continuing my work in Philly and occasionally visiting New York for gigs n jobs n such.

So, if I’ve ever contributed to your practice, or group, fund raised for you, made you money, helped the growth of your soul, your spirit, or anything I’ve ever made has affected you in a positive way, I’d love to get your help with moving costs and having some $$$ to start things off in the new city while I find work (it costs a lot). I’m asking only from people who can afford to give, if you’re in debt and tight on money like me DON’T GIVE ME ANYTHING!!!

I have a lot of pride and would actually love to hide my need for help and max out another card on pretending I’m good but, I’m just gonna ask for your help and take it. Hopefully, this is the last time I will need to fundraise for myself haha.

Created and participated in alternative networks and spaces for black, brown, queers, freaks to create their own scenes and have the help they need

We’ve normalized paying performers for shows

Raised over 40,000 for the DSA alongside Cynthia Nixon which fundraised for our future mayor’s assembly seat!!! (We were there from the start)

Raised over 30k for Bernie with Morgan Bassichis and friends!(campaign manager came!!!)

10,000 for mutual aid during Covid and BLM

We’ve fundraised and help amplify Palestinian families

We’ve fundraised and helped TRANS PEOPLE thrive

We’ve UPLIFTED and help Black and Brown communities

We’ve normalized using shows as fundraisers for the dying empire

We helped normalize resistance and a FREE Palestine

We’ve helped keep NYC extremely queer and badass

We raised 1300 for HEAL Palestine

We came together to provide for our community during unrest in 2016 giving out water, supplies, free healing sessions around the world with a shortlived projects called "Helpers"

We helped aid organizing efforts in LA, MIA, NYC during covid and blm

We marched together

We organized

We kept each other alive during pandemic

We really did so fucking much, I am proud of what we’ve done and what many will continue to do and it’s shown me that anything is possible with people power!

I purposely exclude “activist” or “organizer” from my list of attributes. I see myself as more of a “Helper” and I am thankful for your trust all of these 16 years. I was only able to help in these ways with my friends because of you all. So, if that makes you feel hopeful.…and you’d like to contribute to my personal moving costs you can contribute to this gofundme. If the goal gets reached I'll give some funds to an organization in philly that is doing good work in their community.
