My name is Laura Pagniello. My boyfriend, Salvatore Morana, is a Brain Cancer Warrior and he has been fighting for 20 months and counting.

At age 24, Sam was diagnosed with Gliobastoma Multiforme grade 4- the deadliest type of brain cancer. He had an emergency craniotomy followed by 6 weeks of continuous radiation and chemo. In September 2019, he embarked on his journey of a years worth of chemo. In May 2019 he had a recurrence and underwent Gamma Knife surgery. In August 2020, Sam finished a year of chemo and was in remission!

After a routine MRI a month ago, we found that there was another recurrence in the brain and that it had also spread to the spine- leptomeningeal spread. Sam completed radiation and has now started a stronger chemo. Sam also needs to start another drug administered by IV every 2 weeks and unfortunately, it won’t be covered by insurance.
