Good Things Love Water, Ahrens's new coffeetable book
Donation protected

Hi, I'm Chris Ahrens. After more than 40 years of writing surf stories, and the success of Windansea: Life. Death. Resurrection, I'm back in the game. This time, it's short stories. Some, like Phil Edwards's first trip to Hawaii at age 15, were first published in a series of books starting in 1991. Others feature tales of people like father-son chargers Joe & Jojo Roper. These first-hand accounts are often taken from exclusive surfing's greatest legends and illustrated by some of the surfing world's greatest photographers. Hear about the first assault on Waimea Bay, the wild world of the first Mr. Pipeline, Butch Van Artsdalen, and the second Mr. Pipeline, Jock Sutherland, who once surfed maxed out Waimea Bay alone, at midnight.
While this is a labor of love, printing and purchasing surf photos is expensive. I am launching this campaign in order to create the best book possible. Anyone who's ever been a freelance writer understands that I can't do it without you, and with your help, these stories will live on and be told by you, your children, and your children's children.
