Good People in a Bad Spot

My Father-in-law, Joe Woodral, is a great guy.  A hard-working, dedicated family man that will do anything for anyone who needs him.  Serving is his love, surpassed only by his love for his family (especially his grandkids).
In February of 2018 Joe was in a car accident.  His car slid off the road and down a ravine. He suffered a broken femur, along with 3 to 4 other breaks from above his knee, down to his ankle.
Since February Joe has been at home recovering, and not able to work.  Spending his days in a hospital bed on the ground floor of the house because he can’t get up the stairs to his bedroom.
Joe and his wife, my mother-in-law, Sally, have been anxiously awaiting him being able to return to work.  See, Joe is the sole provider in their house.  A house with not only the two of them, but also 5 other kids (2 of their sons, and 3 of their grandkids that live with them).
Almost six months after the accident and Joe just found out that the break in his femur hasn’t healed.  The bone isn’t fused to the rod that doctors inserted after the accident.  He needs another surgery.  This means that his recovery will take an additional 6 to 8 months.
To make matters worse, short term disability ran out August 1st.  Joe and Sally are now without any income.  I know from talking with him, that not being able to provide for his family is hurting him worse than his leg.
With so many needs from groceries to utility bills, it’s hard to say what would help them the most.  I’m just thinking that helping to keep a roof over all of their heads is the least that any of us can do.  They have done so much for my family and me, and I imagine the same goes for many others reading this.
The $5200 will help Joe and Sally by taking care of their mortgage for 4 months while Joe recovers from this latest surgery.  Other ways that we can help them will come up.  If you are interested in helping in any other way please contact me on Facebook.
