Good Men of the Shepherd is a visual and written capture of my experience going homeless, being unhoused, and coming out of homelessness told from the perspective of life on the other side.
Watch the Edit
Filming for the project (unknowingly) began in June 2023. There is 33+ hours of footage across four environments and includes eight interviews and two live music performances. This first edit began as capstone projects for Deep Dive in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I was granted a scholarship to attend their Digital Media program in 2024.
After taking a year off to rest and recalibrate to life in this new normal, I revisited the footage and began recording reflections on the experience. This edit is the tip of the iceberg.
Monies raised thus far total $4,597 and the soft goal to finish production is $20,000 with a final edit schedule for review in early 2026. I am running a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to facilitate the post-production process, upgrade editing equipment, subsidize some of the travel costs, and keep my cupboards stocked with ramen for the duration.
