My name is Laura Milne and I have a very, close friend in need of financial assistance for finding a new home. My friend has a lot of pride and has requested her name not be mentioned in this fundraiser. She is a single lady who has lived in her current residence for 30 years and the owners of her rental home have just informed her that she needs to vacate, they are selling the home. My friend works very hard but lives paycheck to paycheck barely able to get by each month. She lost her husband tragically 20 years ago and has worked hard to raise her 2 children on her own. She not only is losing the roof over her head but also the home where many memories that she shared as a family with it. She now must relocate and has no means to raise first and last months rent or a security deposit. We are all heading into the holiday season and to think that my good friend will have the threat of homelessness weighing on her mind each day rips my heart out. Please help in any way you can, I want to try to ease this difficult time with some financial assistance. I know I can never soften the emotional blow this move will have on her and her family, but easing her worries about the cost of it all is where we can all help. She is a Bellflower Unified School District employee and has probably worked with many of you throughout the years. She must be out of her current home the start of the new year. She is currently searching for housing but must have the funds to secure her new residence immediately if she finds something.
