I am the TL on our Team and one of my Operators has fallen on hard times. He recently took a leave of absence( approx. 5 months) from the Team as his wife needed to have emergency back surgery and he had to stay home with their two young children while she recovered. He has now informed me that he has to remain on his LOA due to his wife needing additional surgeries because of fluid building on her spine and an arterial blockage. Workers' comp covered her first surgery and kept them afloat, but these additional medical visits will not be covered, and he is picking up additional road shifts and extra duties to keep their house going and pay medical expenses. He is a great Operator, great father, and Marine Corp Vet.
