Good bye to Gordon Stuart (Gordy)

Hi my name is Helen Villa. Gordon Stuart was my brother. On December 5th 2023 he went into University hospital in Cleveland to have a hernia repair surgery that was caused by complications from pancreatic and lung cancer that he had in 2018. While he survived both cancers and was cancer-free at the time of his death, he died unexpectedly from complications from the surgery to repair abdominal hernias that develop during his previous illness. Post surgery he went into cardiac arrest, was revived, but in a second surgery to relieve extensive bleeding (he had over 100 units of blood products and was on a ventilator and ECMO (heart/lung) machine, he had a devastating stroke that he couldn't recover from with any quality of life. He would have had to be dependent on machines and others for his survival. A life he would not have wanted. On behalf of my family we come to you our family, friends and community to ask for your help in taking care of my brother Gordon's final expenses as he was on disability and had no life insurance. The money will be used for his final expenses, medical bills, and to pay his monthly bills, until we decide how we're going to do with his things. Any amount you can afford to give would be greatly appreciated, as ever dollar counts. Thank you in advance for your love, friendship and generosity. Gordy would be just as humbled and thankful as we are. A memorial service will be held early in the spring.
