Good Boy is about Shinji, a lonely Japanese international student at the University of Toronto, who struggles to find love, make connections, and find a community to belong in.
Shinji has a crush on his childhood friend Akiko. Throughout the film, Shinji is influenced by social media and Akiko's boyfriend, Dino, on how to act when trying to find love–that is, being more "masculine."

What do we need the money for?
We need money to pay our cast and crew! We want to recognize the time and effort that our team will put towards this film, and paying people is the best way to do that.
We have secured grants from the Toronto Arts Council and Ontario Arts Council (huge thanks to them!), and we are looking to raise a little more.
The funding will also go towards:
- Locations. We're bound to get chased by TTC officials, so we need some permits.
- Equipment. Don't need the fanciest equipment, but some extra lighting gear would be nice.
- Transportation. Gas is really expensive nowadays.
- Props/Set Design/Wardrobe Design: Our main character has a messy room.
- Post Production. Nobody on our team knows how to use Pro Tools.
- Food: Help us make sure we eat our fruits and veggies.
Who is working on Good Boy?
