Sunday night/Monday morning at approximately 12:30 A.M. Jesus Gonzales (my next door neighbor) was shot in the chest. Someone was breaking into vehicles down our road and he asked what they were doing and they shot him and fled! I heard two shots but only one hit him. It landed in his chest and tore his kidney apart and grazed his spine. The doctors say he may never walk again.. From what I know, they say the man who shot him turned himself in Monday and they're still looking for the other suspect. These men changed the Gonzales family's life forever!! I have faith Jesus will walk again but only time and prayer will tell. I'd like to raise a little something to help them in this hard time with hospital bills and what not. They're a very kind and deserving, hardworking family! Wife Anais thought she may lose her husband that night! Their 2 sons thought they would lose their father! I'm still having a hard time getting the sound of their screams and the images of washing the blood off of my hands to write a statement out of my head, but I'm so glad he's alive! There's going to be a very long healing process for them and if I can just take a weight off their shoulders by raising some money for them, it would help tremendously! Thank you. UPDATE Feb 27th The family says the doctors say he is doing very well in recovery. They should be able to take the tube out of his lung soon. They say he said he can feel a little more of his lower half today but still not in his legs yet. I say "yet" with a passion because I believe this man will walk again!
