The Latina/o Law Student Association (LLSA) is raising funds to take 10 of our members to attend the National Latina/o Law Student Association (NLLSA) Conference in Berkeley, California. Average cost for each student is $855, for a total cost of $8550. Despite our efforts to raise funds, we still need $3605.
We have an ambitious goal to ensure that students who attend the conference only be responsible for food costs. You can learn more about our organization and the conference below.
---
The purpose of LLSA is to create and sustain a welcoming environment for diverse students, provide a forum for law students to express concerns and create meaningful change, develop future leadership and maximize opportunities for our members, and educate youth about the law to encourage them to pursue higher education.
The NLLSA conference creates a space for Latina/o Law students to come together to discuss issues affecting our communities, share experience unique to Latina/os in the legal profession, create meaningful networks, and empower future generations of Latina/o attorneys through our communities own resilience. At the conference, students will have the opportunity of networking, interviewing, panels, and social events for pre-law and law students all over the country.
Every year NLLSA host the largest Latinx focused job fair for law students in the entire country. Law firms, not only from California, will be present and ready to do on the spot interviews. The job fair has proven every year to provide a number of our attendees with post graduate job offers.
Law students who attend the NLLSA Conference will also have the opportunity to run for a position on the National Executive Board. The new board members will be announced at the closing banquet on the last day.
