There are truly no words to capture the heartbreak of losing a child—especially so unexpectedly, at such a young age, and while being held in state custody. On behalf of Omar's parents Amber & Emmers, siblings and our entire collective families, we are reaching out to ask for your support during this unimaginable time.

The circumstances surrounding Omar's passing have raised many painfully difficult and unanswered questions. In the search for truth, we’ve come to understand that the legal system is the only path forward.

This fundraiser will help ease the heavy financial and emotional burdens the family now faces, including memorial expenses and the legal costs needed to gain clarity and transparency surrounding the events that led to his passing.

Amber shared this powerful message for her son:

“Dear son, the pain of losing you is overwhelming, but I’m trying to find comfort in knowing that you are finally at peace No more suffering, no more heartbreak . This world was not kind to your beautiful soul, and for that, I am so deeply sorry. I’m sorry I couldn’t take your pain away.

I pray with everything in me that your spirit is at rest. Please know that we will miss you every single day. Your death will not be in vain—we promise to carry your light forward and make all things right. Any wrong done to you will be brought to justice.

I love you, Omar. I will miss your bright, beautiful smile and the warmth you brought into every room. I look forward to the day when the pain eases, when the weight of your absence doesn’t hurt so much. Until then, I will carry you in my heart.

A dedicated mother and pillar in her community, Amber has always shown up for others. Whether it’s through acts of service, quiet support, or standing beside those in need—Amber gives without hesitation. Now, she needs us.

In the depths of their grief, Amber and Emmers’ compassion still shines, sharing these words:

“We understand this pain isn’t ours alone. We know that each of you—his siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, family, friends, and community—are grieving too. Omar is leaving behind a family and community who adored him. His loss has left a deep void in all our hearts. Like many young people Omar had his challenges, but he knew he was supported by his family and loved unconditionally.
