Dear friends and family,
My dear, loving nephew, Stan Flett, died last week of organ failure. He had lit up our lives in many ways, and we all miss him! He was the guy who laughed so easily, who was so protective of family and loved ones, and who was willing to help in whatever way needed. He liked to talk with everyone and knew most of our neighbors by first name. Babies responded well to him, and he got along well with all age groups and backgrounds of people. He was the one cats generally came to before they visited anyone else in the room, the one to who some critters around here didn't seem afraid of him at all! Certain birds came for treats, and squirrels and chipmunks ran up trees and across railings right next to him. He even claimed that certain lizards hung around the back porch when he did.
Being his aunt and Godmother, I fell in love with him the day I saw him as a baby, looking around at everything, seemingly entertaining himself with all that he saw. I knew then that he was a lighted being!
Now that he has passed, we want to set up final arrangements. Stan loved the water, whether he was seeking swimming, fishing, or just exploring the coast. When his grandparents were alive, they were very close, and he even lived with them for periods of his life. We plan to cremate him, spreading ashes in the ocean, and some laid to rest with his grandparents.
Barbara, his mom, is absolutely devastated! Stan was her "rock"! She cannot cover his expenses, which we estimate to be about $4500, including $2000 for placing cremains in his beloved grandparents' grave.
We can't bring him back but would really like to send him off in a way he would want. Whatever financial help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
