We are heartbroken to share that our beloved Tyler passed away far too soon on August 31, 2025. His time with us was brief, but the love, wit, and laughter he brought to our family and to all who knew him, will live on forever.
Nearly five years ago, Tyler endured a life-changing fall from the top of Battlecreek Falls — a 50-foot plunge. Against all odds, Ty survived the fall. His injuries, however, were catastrophic. He was life flighted from the fall and spent the next two weeks in the ICU as doctors fought tirelessly to repair the damage. Tyler had landed on his left side, leaving that side of his body nearly destroyed. His shoulder and elbow were crushed, his wrist and fingers broken, his lungs collapsed and punctured, his pelvis fractured, his spleen torn, and his hip deeply wounded. His head required 12 staples and 49 stitches, and his ankle was shattered.
Though his spirit was unbreakable, his body never fully healed. Tyler lived with constant pain and limited mobility, yet he carried it with courage. While we are devastated to lose him, we are comforted knowing that he is finally free from pain.
As we grieve the loss of his mama’s “sunshine,” we are also faced with unexpected expenses for his funeral and memorial. Many of you have asked how you can help. Any gift, no matter the size, will go directly toward honoring Tyler’s memory and easing this heavy burden on our family.
We are deeply grateful for your generosity, your prayers, and your love.
With gratitude,
Ty’s family
