About the Movie

After losing his wife in a car wreck, widower and artist manager David Dean finds himself struggling to raise his daughter Gerti while battling a pill addiction. Matters get worse when David's movie star client abandons him, leaving him broke, living at his in-law's Philadelphia row home and selling prescription pills to get by.

Attempting to get out of the city for a few days, David takes Gerti to the Jersey Shore where they check into a motel that will unknowingly change their lives forever. On an evening where David hits a low-point, he is saved by the voice of his neighbor echoing through the wall. It's something David has never heard before; it's the voice of Shawn Lacy. David soon learns that Shawn is an alcoholic who's been detoxing himself in his room for almost a year. David believes that Shawn's voice should be heard by the world and attempts to make him his new "project." An unlikely friendship blossoms between Shawn, David and Gerti as they begin to help one another deal with loss, loneliness and a secret too big to keep hidden.
